Jones, US Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Houston, TX, to the Judiciary
Conference Committee on Automation and Technology (CAT), severely
criticizing the CAT's recommendation to the Judicial Conference that all
judges and other judiciary employees be subject to Internet monitoring.
Judge Jones summarizes the issue thusly: "The recommendations do not
take account of legitimate privacy interests and foreordain a workplace
