Keep RFIDs Out of Public Schools

Across the nation, public schools are using RFIDs to turn campuses into pervasive surveillance networks. EFF is fighting to stop these schools from tracking students using RFID technology.

Brittan School District, Northern California

Students in this district were forced to wear school ID cards with RFID chips in them as part of an "RFID test" done in connection with Incom Corporation. The ID cards were issued without parental consent, and allowed the school to track and maintain records of student movements on campus. The EFF is working with a local parents' group and the ACLU of Northern California to stop this invasion of student privacy.
