Defendant ANDREW BUNNER hereby presents his request for judicial notice of certain materials submitted in opposition to the Order to Show Cause Re: Preliminary Injunction.
 

1. Pursuant to Evidence Code Section 452(f), defendants request the court take judicial notice of the laws of Norway, specifically, Section 39i of Act no. 2 of 12 May 1961 Relating to Copyright i Literary, Scientific and Artistic Works, etc., a true and correct copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A.  Under this Norwegian law, a party to a contract cannot contract away the right to reverse engineer technology in order to achieve interoperability with other programs.

2. Pursuant to Evidence Code Section 452(h), defendants request the court take judicial notice of a January 4, 2000 printout of the San Jose Mercury News website, www.mercurycenter.com/svtech/news/indepth/docs/dvd122999.htm, a true and correct copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit B.  Page 2 of this printout provides a link to http://www.lemuria.org/DeCSS, a website operated by one of the defendants in this case which link would be prohibited under proposed injunction sought by plaintiff.
