Shoob, granting ACLU-GA, EFGA, EFF and other plaintiffs a preliminary
injunction against enforcement of the Georgia (state) "Net police" law
(an anti-privacy and anti-free-speech state law passed in 1996).
Shoob finds the plaintiffs likely to succeed on the merits of all of
their claims (i.e. that the statue is unconstitutional on vagueness,
overbreadth and lack of narrow tailoring grounds) as the case proceeds.

from EFGA original draft) final complaint (lawsuit) filed by ACLU, EFGA,
EFF and many other parties against the Governor and Attorney General of
the US state of Georgia, challenging the constitutionality of the 1996
GA "Net police" law. The complaint explains that the new law is
unconstitutional because it threatens the free speech of Internet and
other online service users and providers in numerous ways, that range
from making it a crime to use a company's logo to link to their web site
(i.e. you get thrown in jail for giving someone free advertising), to
making it illegal to use anything but your full, real name online.
