Nancy Sims

Academic Background: University of Michigan
Bio: Nancy Sims is a second-year at the University of Michigan; her legal interests include copyright and trademark generally, fair use, free speech, ownership of cultural resources, and access to information. For five years just prior to law school she was the Instructional Technology Librarian at the University of Michigan Library, combining digital tech instruction with more traditional reference work. Before becoming a librarian, she worked in disability rights advocacy. Her MLIS is from Rutgers, her undergraduate degree (Sociology) is from Harvard. Outside of law stuff, Nancy is interested in martial arts, warping young mindsmentoring junior high-ers, reading and general media consumption, walking/hiking/biking, and sometimes doing needlework.
Kathleen Lu

Academic Background: University of California, Berkeley
Bio: Kathleen Lu is a rising second-year law student at UC-Berkeley (Boalt Hall). Her legal interests include free speech, privacy, fair use, and separation of church and state. She graduated with a BS in Computer Science and Business Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2006. Previously, she was an summer intern for Westinghouse (Nuclear Fuel Division) in 2005 and for IBM in 2004. Her non-legal interests include college basketball, racquetball, fanfiction, and yummy food.
Amy Morganstern

Academic Background: University of San Francisco
Bio: Amy Morganstern is a rising third year law student at the University of San Francisco. She earned her undergraduate degree in English from Barnard College, Columbia University, and she grew up in New Jersey. Her legal interests include Intellectual Property issues, particularly in the Entertainment field. She also likes to ride her bike, rock climb, blog, and listen to live music.
Erin Simon

Bio: Erin Simon is a second year law student at NYU, where she also earned her undergraduate degree in Linguistics and French. In between stints at America's purplest college, she spent a year as a photographer and web-designer for PC Magazine. Her legal interests include privacy, free speech, and international law. Non-legally, Erin is an avid photographer and learning the ukelele. She also writes about tech law for Maximum PC.
Matt Sanchez

Academic Background: Harvard University
Bio: Matt Sanchez is a rising 2L at Harvard Law School, by way of the University of Florida's College of Journalism. He recently completed the first draft of a children's fantasy novel, and he also enjoys attempting to create other things (mostly bad music). His legal interests include free press, free speech, and anything else that can be made more free. His non-legal interests include reading, writing, and singing bass versions of inappropriate originally-female-vocal songs.
Nika Engberg

Bio: Nika Engberg is a rising 2L at Harvard Law School. Her legal interests include copyright, privacy, and IP and tech law more generally. She received her BA from Williams College in Political Science in 2006, and also spent a year of undergrad studying at Oxford University. She grew up in Westborough, Massachusetts. She loves rock climbing, music, and anything fun!
Ruben Rodrigues

Academic Background: Santa Clara University
Bio: Ruben Rodrigues is a rising 2L at Santa Clara University School of Law, where he's also an Editor for TechLawForum.Net. His legal interests include privacy, patent law, and pretty much all other aspects of tech-related law. He received his S.B. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from MIT and a MPA concentrating in Science & Technology Policy from Northeastern University where he did research on Nanotechnology and Privacy for the Nanotechnology & Society Research Group. He's originally from Boston, MA (actually Somerville) and doesn't really know what to do with himself in California. His non-legal interests include skiing (which doesn't matter much in the summer), hiking, other outdoor activities, and generally hanging out with fun interesting people.
Matt Earp

Academic Background: University of California, Berkeley
Bio: Matt Earp is a rising second year master's student at Berkeley's School of Information. He received his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University in Direction and Sound Design for Theater, with further concentrations in Electronic Music and Photography. He is interested in how communication technology is (and isn't) changing the social practices that surround musicians and the spread of music and musical cultures, as well as law and policy that are effected by current changes. Matt is also a music journalist for XLR8R magazine, a blogger, a event promoter, and DJs as Kid Kameleon, and he pushes Jamaican-influenced music at the extreme ends of the dance and electronic spectrums.
