Direct administrative mail to: fight-censorship-request@andrew.cmu.edu. * REPLIES: I've started to direct replies to the mailing list, which means that if you use your mail program's reply option to respond to a mailing list message, everyone on the list will see your response. To send private mail to someone; don't use the reply option. Instead, compose the mail as a new message. * CORRECTION: CMU's degree-recission policy is not new. I was misled by how the issue date of the policy was listed ("in latest issue of the student handbook") and the fact that the policy was put online for the first time last week. But my manual search of the 1994-95 student handbook found it on page 17. Also in the handbook, page 8: Statute of Limitations: There shall be no "statute of limitations" that precludes faculty from acting on the discovery of alleged violations, either during the semester or term when the course in question is being offered or after the course has ended (and after a student has graduated). * IN THE JUST-TO-BE-SURE CATEGORY: Marty Rimm's Carnegie Press is not registered with the Pennsylvania Securities Commission, according to Joanna Cummings at 800.600.0007: "There are no filings for Carnegie Press with this commission." * One of Marty's lists of dirty picture featured descriptions of over 10,000 GIF and JPEG images taken from the Amateur Action BBS. A grep -v \! through the file showed that only ONE image description out of 11,000 did NOT use an exclamation point: AA-17203.GIF 100k Is this young Oprah showing her big tits? Maybe? Greyscale * I sent a zephyr message to a junior ECE student asking about his involvement with Marty's study. His response was curt: Personal Message at 14:21:49 on Sat Oct 7 I'm very sorry. But I don't have time to chat with you right now since I'm extremely busy with a project. I did not do any study, so in general I can't really help you. Bye. * Attached below is an index to recent mailing list messages, from September 28 until today.
