The forum, in a report prepared for the European Commission, said the EU should guarantee all citizens the right to online public information at affordable prices. It said the Commission should also use the new information technologies to increase public awareness about issues such as voting or consumer protection and promote laws to protect freedom of expression, freedom of information and privacy rights.
