The Fox Broadcast Flag (2001)

• Fox: broadcasters can use a header to indicate that they want devices to obey redistribution control rules, and devices can recognize the header and comply

• ATSC standards committee allocated a metadata header in response to Fox's proposal, but did not define a meaning for it or say devices had to do anything.
