Ruling Expected on MPAA Immunity Request
On June 19, EFF's DVD defense team filed its opposition to the MPAA's refusal to testify about DeCSS in court depositions. The studios seek blanket immunity from giving testimony and producing documents on the alleged grounds that all communications between the MPAA, the DVD CAA and the movie studios are shielded from disclosure by the attorney-client and attorney work-product privileges. A ruling on the scope of the MPAA's confidentiality privilege is expected shortly.
Also, you can now listen to the audio of the MPAA President Jack Valenti
deposition.
