Will DVD Trial Proceed in Secret?

On Tuesday June 6 Judge Lewis Kaplan will hear argument over the MPAA's request to seal the court record from public view. Several media have already intervened asking the court to keep the litigation proceedings open to the press and public scrutiny. On June 5 MPAA's request to adjourn the secrecy hearing was rejected by the court. Concerned citizens should attend Tuesday's hearing which will be held at 4:30 p.m. in Judge Kaplan's court room, U.S. District Court S.D.N.Y.. -- 500 Pearl Street, NY.

serves as mouthpiece for the movie industry in its battle to shut down
Web sites posting DeCSS computer code. Although MPAA initially

to produce its spokesman for questioning, on May 11 the court ordered MPAA
to deliver Valenti for examination.
