==================
The following was submitted to Department of Electrical Engineering
on November 17 and was debated and voted upon at the December 2
Departmental meeting. The motion passed with no votes against.

PREAMBLE:

	(1) Given the department's recent push to increase the
	amount of correspondence done electronically,
	and recgonizing the sometimes sensitive nature
	of information so communicated, and

	(2) Given the widespread concern among EE students
	evidenced by several student newspaper articles
	and countless network-news articles about privacy
	in their electronic workplace, ...

	I would like to make the following motion ....

MOTION:

	Within the Department of Electrical Engineering,
	personal files, including files stored on computer,
	electronic mail, and other electronic communications
	are to be considered private.
