	RATINGS OF MEMBERS OF CONGRESS AVAILABLE
	****************************************

  As part of the project "Voter Information Services" (VIS), we have
  developed a database that allows us to keep track of the voting
  record of each member of the U.S. Congress and of the position on
  legislation of different interest groups.

  Using this data, we can calculate ratings of members of Congress.
  These ratings reflect the degree of support given by a representative
  or a senator (as indicated by his/her voting record) to the legislation
  supported or opposed by various interest groups.

  The table below shows what ratings are currently available.

  To receive our ratings, send a single-line message to

                voteinfo@world.std.com


  The line must be in the following format:

      GET RATINGS <two-letter state code> <congressional district number>

  For example,
		    GET RATINGS TX 5

  will get you our ratings of the senators from Texas and
  the representative(s) from the fifth Congressional District in Texas.
  Use "1" or "AL" as the congressional district number for states with
  only one district.

  Any questions about "Project VIS" can also be emailed to the same address.
