The bill died in committee though.] [1st page missing; will try to get it.] "In this title, "Communications company" means any person that owns, controls, operates, or manages any company that provides information or entertainment electronically to a household, including a cable or community antenna television system. Subtitle 2. Prohibited Acts; Penalties 13A-201. A communications company may not: (1) install and use any equipment which would allow the communications company to visually observer or listen to what is occurring in the household of an individual subscriber withough the knowledge of and without written permission from the subscriber; (2) provide any person, except an agent or employee of the communications company, with a list containing the name of a subscriber unless the communications company notifies the subscriber that the subscriber's name will be disclosed and the subscriber does not object to the disclosure; or (2) install or maintain a home-protection scanning device in a dwelling as part of a communication service withough the express written consent of the occupant or owner. 13A-202. (A) A communications company that violates any provision of this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $10,000 for each violation. (B) A communications company that violates any provision of this subtitle is liable to he person aggrieved by the violation for any damages sustained as a result of the violation. 13A-203. Nothing in this subtitle is intended to restrict or enlarge upon the right of any person to seek damages now permitted by law. Subtitle 2. Short title 13A-301. This title may be cited as the Communications Consumer Privacy Act". on pages 2 through 17, strike in their entirety the lines beginning with line 21 on page 2 through line 38 on page 17, inclusive; and on page 17, in line 39, strike "3." and substitute "2."
