IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES January 4, 1995 Mr. Burton of Indiana introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary A BILL To amend title 18, United States Code, to specify the use of computers in or affecting commerce as a basis for Federal prosecution of certain obscenity offenses. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That section 1465 of title 18, United States Code, is amended-- (1) by inserting `or knowingly uses a computer in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce for the purposes of sale or distribution of,' after `obscene material in interstate or foreign commerce,'; and (2) by striking `five years' and inserting `10 years'.
